| old yorkie's change in eating habits Our thirteen year old pet who always enjoyed her food has suddenly become very picky ... not eating when food is presented or just a few days ago refusing to eat from her bowl. She backs away from her dish, but if her food is placed on a paper towel she eats if quickly. Any ideas? sruth |

| Have you checked her teeth? Maybe one is hurting her when she eats. That wouldn't explain her being willing to eat from the paper towel, though. Hmmm...

| Teddy does that. Hes 8. Some days he eats from his regular stainless steel bowl, some days he will only eat from a pyrex/glass one, some days he only eats out of a spoon if I feed him a little at a time. Its the same food and totally random. I have no idea whats going on in his little noggin. I have noticed that the hungrier he is when I feed him the less fussy he is about how its served but hes still fussy. Good luck.

| Hmmm. I always figure if there's a huge behavior change, there's a reason for it. I'd go to the vet, tell her what's going on, and get a checkup. Sounds like something could be up.

| Interesting thread. Rosie, my 12 yr. old has also decided to be picky. Been hand feeding her but today she refused that. Just had a check-up so I'll wait a bit and see what develops.
