| Watery poop Baileys first day home and his poop is watery. Should I be concerned? He is eating and drinking water, what do you think?

| So sorry he isn't feeling well. It could be the stress of the flight or many other things. You should definitely get him in to see your vet as soon as possible, as I am sure you have a 72 hour or so guarantee in the contract with the breeder to have him checked out right away. He is very small too. Its always a good idea to do this right away so if there are any issues, your vet can advise you.

Yes, I am going to call the vet Monday, If it gets worse I'll call emergency. Funny thing is he goes into his crate, has a little nap, comes out to play a little and eat and drink, he seems perfectly fine..I am constantly watching him. Is poop isn't so runny now, but I will have to watch him and see, I am keeping my fingers crossed that he is ok!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Yes, runny poop in a pup is a big concern. I'm sorry your baby might be sick. In puppies, diarrhea can be life-threatening bc they dehydrate and can become hypoglycemic. If there is any way you can get to the vet, I'd go as soon as you can - you'd want to get a fecal test done, and perhaps bloodwork depending on the vet's findings. Is there blood in the poo? What is the color?

Oh no, He seemed fine, eating, drinking. His poop is almost the same color as what he was eating, soft puppy food. I don't think there was blood, the last poop was thicker in consistancy. . Oh no, we have only one vet here, and sometimes she can't be reached after hours. I feel sick now, I'm going to call and see if I can get an answer.

| I really think too much corn syrup will give him runny poops...When my human baby was a baby, I would put karo in his bottle to make him go! Also, the water change may upset his tummy a little bit, but that will straighten out in a couple of days...The breeder gave me nutrical, when I got Apple, but I just watched her to see if she looked hypoglycemic, and, since she never did, I never gave it to her...I'm no expert, but I'd certainly start by cutting back on the karo... |

| I would rather give karo or honey rather than corn syrup. If he's eating well & drinking water, I don't think you have to worry about hypoglycemia. Just watch him until you can get to a vet tomorrow & take along a fecal sample. Also limit his play time so he doesn't burn up too much calories. Hope the little guy will feel better soon!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Karo is corn syrup. Karo is just a brand of corn syrup, but most people just call corn syrup "Karo". Sort of like people call all brands of facial tissue "Kleenex", even though Kleenex is just a brand, not an actual "thing". Hope that makes sense.

| Sorry to cause confusion...I thought Karo & corn syrup were two different things. Now I know. My vet suggested honey, not the raw kind but the one in the bottle shaped like a bear. She prefers to give Karo (corn syrup) before honey. How's your baby doing?
