| You could ask your vet about a high calorie diet. But just keeping an older dog on puppy food can sometimes help them gain weight. Are you free feeding -- keeping food always available? I do that and my male, Ben, still does not gain. Some are just genetically thin. Our vet says lean is healthy and not to worry.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Did the vet say he was too thin? Being a little on the thin side is often healthier than the reverse, but if the vet wants him to gain weight just adding a few treats throughout the day can be enough. You don't want to add weight too fast anymore than you want to lose weight fast. Eating before right before bedtime is the way Sumo wrestlers recommend adding weight. It works for me!
