| Itchy itchy skin! Uni scratches A LOT in the early morning hours. (Early for our family means at about 10 am haha) but once I wake up to go to the bathroom myself, which wakes her up, she will keep licking and scratching herself off and on for the next few hours until we really get up. Her hair is already fairly thin. When she scratches she makes mats, and when I comb them out, there are furballs that come out! I don't want more of her hair coming out. Is there anything out there that anyone knows of to make her less itchy? I just realized that yorkies should not eat wheat. We were giving her little pieces of wheat bread as treats, we thought they were more healthier than white, haha I guess not. Anything that will help her skin/hair? what can I give her to soothe her skin? thanks y'all!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would try removing grains from her diet and if she is still itchy have the vet check her out. My Cali has bad allergies and after all the trsting and food modifications we found the only thing that worked was a medicine called Atopica, but there are other things to try first. I hope you can find out what is causing it.

| Hello, I had the same problem with Pizuki all of the sudden she was scratching like crazy in mornings after waking up and her skin was some what dry, so I did some research here on YT and found out about 3V caps, a supplement containing fatty acids which is said to do wonders with their skin and coat. So I bought it and I give one capsule per day usually in the mornings that she is really hungry, I just break the capsule squeeze the oil out and mixed with her food, after a week or so no more scratching and her hair is so shiny and soft. |
