I'd be curious to know what constitutes a flea infestation and just how much of an infestation could cause anemia and a compromised immune system.
I'm always seeing lots of great info being provided for heartworm but not much concern for the fleas.

Yes it does matter what size the pet is and how many fleas it has, or the size of one flea.... (jk).

Bad reaction to Revolution. I have been scanning the web for any feedback on this product. Although there seems to be a fair amount of positive feedback I want to share my story.... My Yorkie got ALL the side effects - vomiting, diarrhea (with large amounts of blood), fever & lethargy! The scary part is it was only after the 3rd bout that I was able to tell what was causing these symptoms - as they started a few days after application & I didn't register. My Yorkie has been a fussy eater ( but likes anything revolting she can get hold off!) so when she got so sick - the vet thought she had gastro, I feel terrible that I was " poisoning" my little girl, and it cost me thousands as it happened over the weekend so vet surcharged. I will NEVER use or recommend this product!!

Bella never had that kind of reaction to Revolution at all--she tolerates it well. It goes to show you that each dog responds differently, so whatever heartworm medicine you decide on, watch for symptoms during the first few days after you use it and contact the vet to see if it should be changed to something else. I don't think that there is any single heartworm medicine that is 100% safe for all dogs. but if you live where heartworms are endemic, you have to use something.

Someone or something will always have a bad reaction to everything it doesn't make the product terrible unless it's making a lot of dogs sick not just a few. It's kinda like my grandma is allergic to morphine and it killed her and she was brought back but that doesn't make morphine a terrible medicine. I am sorry your little girl had a bad reaction.
