| Frequent Urination I had my puppy spayed last week and noticed a significant change in her bathroom habits. Before, she would go out every 3-4 hours, however, as soon as i brought her home from being spayed, she's been going every 1-2 hours. The vet said this should not be a side-effect of the surgery and is running a urine sample to see if anything shows up in that. Just curious if anyone has seen this type of change in their dogs. |

| It might just be due to the fluids from surgery. ? Schatzie didn't seem to have much potty change after her recent spay surgery, but she goes often anyway.

| Has her drinking habits changed at all? Maybe she is drinking more water after the surgery? Hopefully it'll all get back to normal for her soon! |

| it's been about 3 weeks and she still is peeing very frequently. She used to NEVER go in her bed, but lately she's been going in there also, and is still on the hourly schedule to use the bathroom. Drinking habits are pretty much the same as always. Vet said she may have some type of bacterial infection giving her the sensation to go more often, so she's on some types of anti-bacteria medicine. The dose is for 12 days, so hopefully it clears up. |

| Let us know how that turns out. It isn't normal to be going that often. Perhaps she is having a bit of stress incontinence, too, after all she went through and it will pass in time.

| Coco would pee every 20 minutes for a whole day and I was worried so I called her vet. He asked what color her pee was and I said it looks allllll clear, and he said she just had a lot to drink that day that it wasn't anything to worry about but if she looks like she's having pain going potty or blood in her urine to bring her in. Hope that helps.

| I had both my girls spayed about a month ago and my smaller one, Daisha, peed a lot the first few days after her surgery. What made it worse, is she would pee wherever she was at -- on the pee pad or not. She had a LOT of accidents, but thankfully, I kept my Bissell Handheld plugged up and ready to use. She's back to normal now though. I'll be checking to see how your baby is doing. |

| Sabrina did that too after I had her spayed 2 weeks ago. I think there is a little swelling that presses on the bladder. Once the swelling wend down, she's back to normal habits. Call the vet if you are real concerned though, there could be a little infection.

| I am glad you posted this, because I had the same question. Trixie got spayed last week and I have noticed an increase as well. She used to pee twice max during a half an hour walk. In the last week she's gone like 4 or 5 times just around the block. The swelling part makes sense. It has been getting better by the day. |

| Fortunately, she's gone back to normal. Not sure if it was due to the medicine the vet gave, or the reduction of swelling, but all is well. Thanks for the posts. |
