well it makes me and my kids drowsy when I use it lol so I expected it to make Tucker drowsy some but it didnt, it could of been that I didnt give him enough I dont no. It didnt relax him at all, but My cousin who has a very high strung boxer uses benedryl to cut her dogs nails, she claims that it works like a charm so Im guessing it must make her dog chill out some.

I would assume just like a child 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to kick in, last 4 hours. feel free to correct someone if Im wrong.

I gave Nikko a bit of benadryl after his second set of shots... I forget the dosage now, but it was correct for his size.

The benadryl didn't phase him at ALL. No kick in time, no wear off time. Just wild pedal-to-the-metal puppy the whole time, as usual.

The formula for figuring out the dosage for Childrens Liquid Benedry is:

Your dogs body weight times 5 divided by 12.5 = dose in cc/ml

To figure out your dogs body weight you have to convert ounces to pounds...

EX: a dog that weighs 4 pounds 10 ounces would weigh 4.625 pounds

you must take the 10 ounces and divide by 16 then add the 4 pounds...
10 divided by 16 = .625 + 4 =4.625

4.625 X 5 divided by 12.5 =1.85 cc/ml

what about childrens chewy benadryl? I have a 5 lb and a 6 lb yorkie. It's great to be back here. Missed all the yorkie talk.
