i've been feeding wellness for over 7 years with no problems. My cat has been on it the longest and morgan's been eating it for 2 years on and off (more on). None of my animals have had problems with it.

I quickly looked at that discussion posted. That was a German Short Haired Pointer (GSP) i believe. These types of dogs have deep chests and are more likely to bloat and have a stomach torsion then other dogs. All deep chested dogs have this problem. By reading the OPs post of her problem with the GSP i do not believe the food caused that. The dog could have eatten any type of dog food and had the same problem. It is not known why dogs bloat, and torsion usually happens at the same time.

I would like to see more proof then this that wellness has changed.

The only thing on Wellness I posted about Wellness long time ago was the little fish bones in the food, thats about it though

Chase was on Wellness Puppy and he did great on it. The only mildly controversial ingredient I came across is rye flour, which is viewed as a filler. He is currently on Innova Small Breed Adult and loves it. I'm also thinking of tyring Orijen in the future.

Thanks for brining it to our attention. You can never have too much information.

I'm seconding the bloat has nothing to do with the kind of food the dog is eating post. It may have to do with how fast they are eating and other unknown factors but eating a certain type of food would not cause bloat. Some dogs like great danes and dobermans are just more prone to bloat.
I'm going to need some more evidence that wellness is bad before i take my dogs off of it. This is just 5 people saying that wellness made their dog sick. Not every food is going to sit well with every dog. Their dogs may have had an allergy to something in the food and that what was made them sick. One poster said she switch from Iams. Wellness is way higher quality and a more rich food than Iams, so the added protein could irritate stomachs also. I may also e-mail wellness tomorrow to see what they say. But let us know if they e-mail you back.

Let us know what they say. I spent about 1-2 months finding food that Rosie will eat and she finally ate Wellness. I just switched her from Blue Buffalo. She's real picky so I hope the food Wellness is ok.

Oh man, Meg just finished a trial bag of Wellness "Just for Puppy" and I just ordered a bag. Does anyone know more about this? I can't find any articles either, but the WEllpet website does have Wellness listed as one of their companies...

I really thought Wellness was going to be a safe choice. Now what do I do?:confused:

Please keep me updated on this :( I have my baby Fifi on the puppy Wellness food and I'm so worried now :eek: I hope it's not the food, she loves it:(
