| Liver shunts are common in Yorkies. Some signs are seizures, circling, head pressing, shaking, drooling, polyurea, polydipsia, GI problems, vision problems, UTIs or stones, inappetance, small size/stunted growth, etc. Liver function can be tested with a bile acids test. It is good to do with all Yorkies.

| If a Yorkie stays very small or just isn't growing as fast as the vet thinks they should be or they aren't eating, so not gaining weight, I would bile acids test. You should only have to do it once at 20 weeks or after.
