| Vaccine Reaction?! Hi there. I need quick help with my 12 week old puppy. She got her last shots today (including Rabies) at 16h00 and now (21h30) she is shivering (or having tremors), the site where she was injected is smelled up, she is lethargic, seems to have pain walking and she vomited a while ago. That said, I gave her some Nutri-cal. She isn't pale (checked her gums) and she is not limp. She seems to have trouble getting comfortable. Should I call the vet? June is 32 ounces.

| They gave all her shots together? Don't think you are supposed to do that... Someone here will know what to do, but I personally would suggest taking her to the vet ASAP. Just to be sure she is o.k. Good luck!

YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | If she is lethargic and vomiting, you need to get her back to the vet! She needs an anti-imflammatory shot and/or Benadryl!

| Mine never get more than one shot at a time, and then they are broken down and given over a period of a few days. First off puppies shouldn't even have any shots till they are at least 16 weeks old. Is there a different Vet. you can talk with to see what their views are?

| I would definitely call the vet. Perhaps standards are different in S. Africa, but most don't begin puppy shots till 10-12 weeks of age and require 2-3 rounds of shots. And 12 weeks is very early to be giving a rabies vaccination.....

| The stickers in her vet booklet says that she got a rabies shot as well as Canine Distemper, Adenovirus type 2, Parainfluenza and Parvovirus. It is a modified live virus vaccine. The vet did say that we had to go back in a month for something else, but I can't remember (I think the panic and worry is making me forget). She is eating, but seems so weak.

| Lethargy can be normal and even vomiting may be okay but this with weakness is not good. She needs to go back to the vet immediately.

| I just phoned the animal hospital and they said that I should just hold off food for tonight and tomorrow morning. It is hectic that they injected her with so much at once. She seems better though, she tore up the newspaper in her pen. Must be better! She is still very sore though and I can't even pick her up without hurting her. I am so happy that these are the last ones for a while. If she vomits again, off to the hospital we go. Note to self: Get some children's benadryl!!

| Thank you for all your help! She seems much better. Still keeping a very close eye on her. I was just so scared since she is so small. Thanks again.
