| Raw Food Diet Does anyone feed their yorkie a raw food diet? I have recently started feeding mine the raw food diet developed by my vet for Natural Balance. I mix it once a day with their dry food. |

| My answer is - I don't even cook for myself because I don't have time. I heard its good for dogs, but I don't have any time.

| I just started feeding the new raw food diet developed by Natural Balance. I don't have to prepare it. It is already prepared and frozen into cubes that you thaw and feed as needed. They seem to really like it. The ingredients are chicken, ground raw chicken, bones (backs, necks and thighs), spinach, broccoli, celery , sweet potaotes, whole ground flaxseed, barley sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, apples, oranges, whole egg, carrots, cold pressed salmon oil, cranberries, sun-dried kelp, spirulina, and a bunch of other stuff but those are main ones. They carry it at the Petcos in my area. |

| http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/dog...tml#Guaranteed Hmmm...certainly sounds interesting. ". You can use this diet as a stand alone diet or you can mix with Natural Balance's Dry dog foods as well." I may give the 2 lb bag a try. |

| I just started a raw diet also! I do cook the pre-ground medallions in a pan for a little bc the raw all the way still scares me, but I have done it for 5 days now and theyre already doing great! Their stools are much smaller (which is a good sign) and Maya's tear stains have improved. Im shocked theyre selling it at petco, thats a good sign! WIth the ones that I have you just defrost what you are going to use for the next day the night before. Its really so easy, and my dogs eat it all right up. Right now I bought Venison and Organic Chicken, next time Im gonna try lamb also The local boutique here sells it, and the feed store. They also have a freeze dried version for ease when you go out of town! Here is the link: http://www.naturesvariety.com/conten...83CAkOu38CEB32 So glad to hear people on the raw diet, thought I was the only "nut" |

| I think that once the natural balance comes out here Ill look at that, bc it is a large company. Large enough that now I definitely feel more confident about this diet. |

| I've never fed the yorks raw, but I used to feed raw to my kitties and my medium-sized mutt. I did the BARF diet thing and mixed everything at home; much cheaper (but then, if you're feeding one yorkie, maybe you can afford to skip the mess/trouble of home prep). This was several years ago, but if I recall correctly, they emphasized that you don't mix raw with cooked foods, due to the rate of digestion and the likelihood of upset tummies. My girl did extremely well on the diet, and huge plus -- her stools were much smaller, firmer, and disintegrated within a few days...no need to poop scoop LOL. Her teeth absolutely SPARKLED and her coat was amazing. I would still be feeding it if I had a place to store 30 lbs of chicken necks at one time. Ash

| Nature's Variety is the best I've found. We have just started selling it in our boutique and it has done wonders for my babies, especially my allergic lab mix who can't have a lot of things. It gives him variety from his Solid Gold kibble.
