| We Need Help with Food! Ok, so... I raised Cash on Science Plan and he has done fine (he did have skin problems when he was on the food and he hated it). Until now, 2 years later, I haven't found a food that I am happy to feed him. June's breeder had them on Royal Canin Puppy, so I bought a bag of that and am now trying Royal Canin Special for Cash - he is a fussy eater. So, my problem is this: I live in South Africa and we don't get Orijen, Wellness or any of the good foods (more than 3 stars) here. So, I found a holistic pet nutritionist who makes food with great ingredients (at least, I think so). Please take a look at the site and tell me what you think... www.vondis.co.za I would love to put both of them on the natural diet, especially June on the puppy diet, it sounds so wholesome. Please let me know what you think.

| The food looks to be okay, but I have a few reservations - first, the use of garlic. Garlic can be toxic to dogs in large doses so I'd stay away from that if at all possible. If there is a different formula without garlic, I'd try that. I don't know a whole lot about homecooked diets so hopefully someone with more knowledge will come along! I do know that homecooking can be very hard to balance so you'll want to ask about that too.

| Garlic is ok if given in small amounts. I feed EVO and it has garlic in it as well as their biscuits which also include garlic and Snickers is fine. Garlic is not ok if given in large amounts by anymeans. I actually hear garlic is great for agility according to a dog food specialist at a holistic store I visited. She is the one who convinced me to go raw w/ the grainless kibble. I would ask the company how much garlic they use...but to me, this food looks pretty good!!!

| I really can't give an opinion since I don't know the regulatory agencies of dog food in South Africa and I don't know if the food meets their guidelines. IF at all possible, I would avoid garlic and if it needed to be used, I'd want red blood cells checked.
