Trying to decide between foods!

**Buying a huge bag of dog food is not ideal for our little ones since they eat so less, food can get stale.

Good post! Natural Balance is a good choice, too, because I'm pretty sure it's available at most stores such as Petsmart. Petco sells a lot of the higher rated foods now too.

I feed Jackson Merrick's Before grain and it is a bit pricey but the bag lasts us for a good month (and my mom's dog eats it too sometimes so technically, if I was just feeding Jackson, it'd probably last longer) But I believe it's $15 for a 6lb bag.

Please, please do some research on Nutro. Google Nutro Consumer Affairs. It is has been cited as responsible for thousands of dog death's across the country. Very, very scary. Wellness is a great food though

Hiiii, I am so excited that you are getting your puppy especially that you are doing so much reading about nutrition and other things! before she comes home.
I would not feed my furbabies the 2 brands you mentioned. I look at protein content, fat content, ingredients that are human grade. I love innovas website for listing the ingredients and their nutritional value. I have had Jazzie on Innova for almost 2 yrs. Zander was tired of it, sometimes it can be too rich for some dogs palate so I switched him to Calif. Naturals. We have been on Wellness, natures variety, as well. With the wellness Zanders hair looked oily within 3 days of a bath, with natures variety they both had reverse sneezing, it stopped once I switched them to Innova. I love Calif. naturals because their recipe is simple, the least possibilities for allergies, etc.

Emett loves the Merrick wet food... but he seems to hate the wellness dry. He just sits and sniffs at it. I guess I'll have to try another kibble.

Goggle Evo my yorkies love this kibble. I also make my dogs food. She eats apples her favorite peas carrots green beans grapes. I buy organic chicken and organic brown rice they love it. My new pup is teething on carrots and frozen peas.

congrats on your new puppy. you are a very good mommy for doing research on food now to prepare for your baby. i also fed eukanuba and royal mini puppy when i first got milu (because that's what the breeder recommended) but after doing my research, i think those are not good foods for my baby, so i stopped feeding her those kibbles and bought her what i think is better for her foods.

right now i feed her pre-made raw and kibbles. the kibbles i have for her are

taste of the wild
halo
solid gold

My dog is on Natural Balance almost 3 years and does excellent on it
Wellness is a great food but my baby went poopy to much on it
