| Swallowed my pearls!!! I left for the office at 9, returned about noon, only to find that i had left my strand of pearls on the bed. They hD definately been chewed on, and i figured there had to be about 24 of them completely gone. My babies are gated in only to have access to my bedroom, bathroom and hallway. i cant find them ANYWHERE, and i am Sure one of the 3 (if not all of them) swallowed them! I called the vet, and was told that they woudl probably pass through the stools, and that they were not toxic, (thank God!). my biggest concern is my little one, he's just under 2 lbs (full grown) and i really DONT know if those little pea size pearls will pass through his stools??? I havent noticed that he has had a bowel movement yet this evening. BUT, oh my, I'm wondering if he may have been the one who swallowed the majority of them and he's "Plugged up"??? The vet says to give it a day, and if i dont see anything, they can get xrayed. However, she even said, they cant gurantee that the xray would show them, as sometimes it doesnt. HAS ANYONE ever had this problem??? I dont THINK my little Maltese whos just 4 lbs, would even bother with the pearls, (shes too fussy!). my 7 lb. Yorkie, MIGHT, but the LITTLE one, is a brave and curious one! Im wondering, if they could actually break and chew them up, and then i would NOT see them in the stool?? Oh Boy!! Thank you for your time.

| Keep looking for your pearls in their stools and if you don't see anything in any of them I would bring them for xrays..better to be safe! Hope all turns out well! |

| Sounds something like my Suzi would do! She eats everything. I hope all your little ones will be ok. Give it a day or two and see what happens.

Ugh!! yES, i AGREE WITH YOU, but i just bet those dang xrays wont show anything. I've had xrays done in the past, and nothing ever shows up.! thanks, hopefully we will see something in the stools.

| Momo eats many things...what goes in, must come out. If you're worried about blockage...if they're not vomitting, they should be fine. If they are, I would take them in for x-rays asap. Don't worry...you'll find your pearls in their tootsie rolls by morning!
