| The #1 reason we hate spring.... watery, red, itchy eyes. My poor sweet girl- she is having a rough go- I hope this year to figure out WHAT she is allergic to- i think that everyone cutting their lawns is bothering her right now- and i know that the dandelion fluff really bothers her. anyone else's pups suffering? |

| Thankfully no problems here but that poor girl. That has got to be horrible. At least with food allergies the treatment won't cause long term damage. Maybe move to Alaska?

| Aww poor Layla! Emma & Milli have both had allergies too, but not the watery eyes-just lots and lots of reverse sneezing which sounds way worse than it probably is. Both girls had it their first summers with us, but have been ok last summer. I think it depends on how much of what allergen is in the air. I hope the season is short where you are for Layla's sake Can you give her Benadryl or Claritin? The Claritin worked for Milli and didn't make her sleepy like the Benadryl did. Just a thought...

| Aww, poor little girl. My Becca used to have terrible allergies this time of year, too, so I understand what you're going through. Becca's got much better when I started bagging instead of mulching my grass, but she still suffered when the neighbors did yard work. Sending lots of hugs and kisses to her!

| How terrible for her. I remember years ago I would get that way from something in the area(air) where we lived at the time. It was horrible. My eyes would get so swollen from rubbing them I had to squint to see. It felt so good to rub them if was worth not seeing. I hope something can give her relief, other than staying indoors. That's sad. Do they have doggy eyedrops? Cold compresses to the eyes felt so good. It sort of relieved the buring. Hope she feels better soon, |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | *Raises hands and spits on pollen* Marcel had pollen issues a bit last year, and this year since Dec/Jan they are in FULL force; it is super high right now here and he is suffering. He doesn't really itch from it- his eyes just get watery/gooey and he chews his paws. I started him on Moducare on the 25th, and I'll know in about 3wks whether it's working. Hate the pollen.

| Aww poor Layla! My Jamie feels icky too. His eyes and nose are runny and he just lays and paws at his little head. And he's been doing the reverse sneezing alot. I've been giving him Benedryl too. Hopefully Ann will have good luck with the Moducare. I'm thinking about getting it and trying it with Jamie. I've been wiping Jamie down with a damp rag when we come in and combing him to get as much pollen off him as possible. I think that helps some.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I've lived all over, and never suffered from allergies till I moved to Arizona, it use to be the best place for allergies, but two factors have changed all that. First problem is that we are planting more vegetation imported from other states, it no longer "looks" like the desert, in many communities, but the second and major reason is the dry air itself, makes it so easy for the pollen to blow around. If the air is more humid, pollen tends to land on plants and sticks, thus filtering out much of the pollen from the air, but in dry climates the pollens stays in the air, and it's harder to escape, a nice breezy day is especially bad.
