You know, I have read these food list before - my recommendation is to everyone! Read, and re-read the lists. Don't assume you know.

But to complicate matters - I changed their diet just 3 days ago. I switched them from kibble to Sojos grain free - they have been eating it this week with raw turkey. They have really been doing ok with the new food.

But here in Fla., I just called and they couldn't have been nicer. The vet said it is only the avocado pit that is toxic to dogs. He said avocado itself is a danger to birds. Now, isn't that interesting when so many say avocados are dangerous to dogs - and one thing I read, said especially dangerous to yorkies or other small breeds. They told me it could take 12 hrs to know they are clear - and that if I see bloody diarrhea or vomiting to get to the vet. Because you all care ![]() On top of all this I just realized 3/4 of my face is badly sunburned - here i was so concerned about them, I wasn't even paying attn to how on fire my face is. ![]()

Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() I know how you feel, only my boo boo was with raisins. I would just keep an eye on them for the time being. This toxin will cause difficulty in breathing as one notable symptom of toxicity. I think if the tinies ate the entire thing, there may be an issue. Or, perhaps, if you give it to them all the time. I think this isolated boo boo will be OK.....but, supervise their behavior just to make sure. Blessings...Lisa, Lilly & Jesse |

| ![]() Yes --and there was no ill effect in fact,we had a German Shepherd that would go into the local acvocado orchard and get a fruit, bring it back to the house, gnaw off the skin and eat the whole thing. He loved them but we do not give it to our Yorkies once we learned about the toxicity. |

YT 1000 Club Member | ![]() Glad they both seem to be ok other then being a little stopped up. When I first got Roxie I had no idea you weren't supposed to give them grapes. I gave Roxie some and found out later about them being toxic. Nothing ever happened thank goodness. My sister in law is like an animal expert and has worked with tons of animals. She said that most of the time some of the ones that are toxic they'd have to consume alot of it to be deadly. But that it also depends on the dog. Must be some truth to that. |

Not trying to scare you, cause i dont even know if thats true but i thought i read it somewhere. It might not be anyway. But i've tried giving mine banana before and none of them like it ![]()
