| Neutering question. I have a neutering question.... Jackson is scheduled to be neutered on April 3rd. He will be 6 months old on April 11th and right now he's gotta be 10 pounds by now. His last vet appointment he was 8.6 but that was at 16 weeks old or so. Anyways, my main question is, is it a shorter recovery time for a boy than a girl (getting spayed?) I've only had girl dogs, but the boys surgery process seems so much simpler, lol. Just wondering what to expect when I bring him home.

| I've heard people tell me that males have an easier recovery process than females. I've only had a female so I really wouldn't know, but it's just what I've heard. Good luck! |

| It is easier on the boys unless they have cryptorchidism. That's a bit harder on them than a regular neuter. So yes, they should recover faster.

| My sister worked in a vet's office for many years and assisted with surgeries. She described neutering as like popping peas out of the pod. |

| Gotta love that analogy! Teddy was a few days under 5 months but had no problems. He came home that night, never licked at his boo-boo, and was running around that same night. Wonder when the red rocket will stop appearing?

| Neutered today Shelby had his surgery today at 6 months old. He came home, whined to eat and has been playing with his new "get well" toys all evening . Pooped and peed with no problem. I'm more concerned than he acts!
