| Hi, I'm in NJ and my baby hardly goes outside to my backyard. if I take her, she won't be there more than 10 minutes and, today my boyfriend found a tick on her! I have no idea what to do.

| I am from Illinois too, I am from Southern Illinois and i can tell you we always see ticks really early in the spring but not this early,But I found one crawling up my leg about a weeks ago and i found a Dead one on Tuckers tummy.Last summer i had 2 Doberman/Boxer mixes and no matter how much frontline i put on them they were covered in ticks(they were outside dogs)! Illinois is horrible for ticks and last year there was even a few cases of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever in Humans around here,That is so scary to me!!Are your Fur baby/babies on flea and tick meds yet? Tucker stays on them Year around now,We have him on Advantix and it is working great! |

| They sometimes look black, was it a flat round shape? more than likely it was a tick!was it dead or alive? They one i found on Tucker was dead.If you ever find one and it is still alive the best thing to do it burn it with a lighter!I would say if you ever find one under the skin you need to get to a dr. or if it is a animal i would say go to a vet. If it is stuck you can pull it off just make sure you get it all, make sure you so not pull it off and the head come off and stay there as it can make you very sick! |
