We use it as well. No problems. Pam |
Maximus is on this too. Our vet said the cost of preventive is much less than the cost of treatment. He hasn't had any problems on it. He gets it once a month on the 1st day of the month. |
Interceptor is considered by many to be the safest heartworm preventative out there. Heartguard has been linked to seizures, mostly in Collies, but why take a chance? |
All of my dogs (big and little) have been on Interceptor year round from the time I brought them home with no problems. I have witnessed first hand a dog suffering from hearworm (not mine) and there is no way I would even think of not using it. I should add that I live in PA and have cold winters and I have seen a mosquito a time or two in the winter in the house so.....it's year round for us. |
Max uses Interceptor. Been on it since his first puppy visit at 13 weeks. No problems. I give it year round. |
I have used this for all of my babies year around without any problems Betty & Micah my love:aimeeyork |
I use Interceptor and Frontline on Harley year round. I give one the 1st and one the 15th just to space them out. When I got Harley he was about 14 weeks and is now 10 months, I have used it on him the entire time. Jeri and Harley:aimeeyork |
Pepper has been on Interceptor since he was about 13 weeks old. He is now a little over a year old and we have had no problems. We also use it year round. |
Great Site I went on this website PetCareRx - Discount pet meds, pet medications and pet medicines available at our pet pharmacy and the sale ends today. You can get 20% and free shipping on Interceptor. I got a 12 month supply for 36.79. Great deal!! This is for my yorkie who is 5.5lbs!;) |

I've also used Interceptor since we got Roxy. Now 6 mo, and no problems from it. I usually make sure she has a little food in her tummy before giving just in case. I like the checklist of all the things it covers. |
Coco uses interceptor. I have to cover it in peanut butter to get her to eat it though. LOL She likes to spit it out. |
We use Interceptor as well. I like the fact that it is just the heartworm preventative and doesn't have flea/tick protection in it. It also has the lowest number of incidents reported out of all the heartworm meds. Heartworm is a very serious disease and if contracted, the treatment can kill our little ones. This is the one area where I don't hesitate to medicate. |
I give all four of my babies this. I always get nervous when giving them anything but as Jodie said above, this is one thing I won't skip on. Heartworms are too dangerous. As a few others mentioned, my vet also prefers Interceptor over any other H.W. meds. :) |
