| Is it too late to make much of a difference in my dogs teeth? I have a 3 yr old Yorkie, a 10 yr old Maltese, and a 7 yr old yorkie poodle mix. I am ashamed to say I never heard about brushing my dogs teeth till I got on Yorkie talk. I also never knew how these particular breeds were even more suseptible to rotting teeth. I had the oldest dogs teeth cleaned about a year ago and it helped but they are bad again...I cant imagine how bad they will get as they get older. So, is it too late now...is there anything I can do that will help the two oldest dogs? Would it be useless to start brushing their teeth now? I know its not too late and would like to start on my Yorkie. Would you recommend getting her teeth cleaned first and then beginning the brushing? How often do I need to brush? I can tell you with 3 of them, a full time job and an 18 yr old daughter at home...I wont get to it everyday. Would every other day be okay or worthless? Thanks for your help |

| Try using petz life -- Life for teeth -- it can be purchased at their on line store or through some pet stores. PetzLife Products Inc - Products For a Healthier Pet |

| it is never too late- i would get the dental done and start with a clean slate. I brush Layla's teeth every morning- it doesnt' take long but it is so good for the health! If they get gum disease it can go into their blood which can cause a huge problem. Good for you for deciding to do this!!!! |

| It's never to late to start , just brush as often as you can and try the petzlife gel. It may take a bit but it worked great on my dogs. My oldest is three and her teeth look amazing , my Yorkie on the other hand has problem teeth and needs to have some removed but the petzlife has already made a big difference !

| It is not too late. I would do dentals on them and get all the tartar removed and any loose teeth pulled. You should have a fresh start then. Then they should be brushed everyday but 3-4 times a week is fine for most dogs. OraVet is also a good product to use.

| Thanks everyone...I will be off to Petsmart tomorrow for the supplies. I cant get their teeth all cleaned at once, too expensive but will start with the worst and work my way down to the youngest. |

| If you can try these treats called TD's. They are available at the vet. We use them and NONE of the dogs have ever needed dentals.....ever. We swear by these treats. |

| LEBA III - This is supposed to be amazing! Hi - I'm also in Canada and my breeder suggested Leba III Lebalab Inc. Check out their site, it really looks amazing. I did get Carson teeth cleaned when he was neutered two days ago, so I have been spraying once a day. However, I will start using a toothbrush - I was told not to use toothpaste with this product, Jjust a wet toothbrush. |

It can stop tartar build up by about 39% but I think it needs to be fed as the only food to have such an impact.
