Layla has to go for another Spec and Lipase blood test regarding her pancrease and i think they will come back fine. She is the picutre of health- is on a very low fat diet and has been on her supplements for a while now. So i'm not worried about that.

But she has these things on the bottom of two/three of her pads. They started as flat hard - what i describe as callouses. So i poked and prodded- Layla didn't care. However, this was about a week and half ago- i was going to call the vet and get in but she was closed 3 days this week and we go on Monday anyways. But now they have started to crack around the outside of this callous and I am worried if she got it caught it would lift right off- they haven't gotten any bigger they are just starting to come out almost- and there was a 3rd on but it seems to be going away... anyways.. i'm nervous they will have to be removed as I can't figure out what else will happen with them.... so some good thought would be great

Hey Layla, It's me Aiden. Sorry you have to go back to the doctors on Monday, but your mommy said you've been really careful with your diet, so I hope you get a good report. I'm going to send you hugs and kisses just for the fun of it. Good Luck and keep us posted. Aiden Gibson

As monday gets closer i'm getting more nervous! I think i hate the vet more than she does

I'm sure she's going to get an A+ on her check-up.

As for the little things on her pads...it sounds like it could have been a blister. Was she walking on something too hot or too cold? Doesn't sound like it's serious or she would probably be limping or whimpering. Hope all works out. Let us know.

Thanks everyone

The appointment went well. The vet said the callouses on her feet are normal but she has only ever seen them in a cat .....

go figure! she says they will come off on their own!

Layla was very brave for her bloodwork and we should hear later this week how it went... although I'm sure all will be well!
