| Neutering? What do I do?? Need help!! My baby Cohen is starting to mark, so it looks like I'm going to have to take him in to get neutered. I had wanted to wait because I've heard horror stories about getting Yorkies neutered too young (ie. gaining lots of weight after surgery.) I also have considered breeding him with a friend of mine's female yorkie. I guess I'm just confused about what to do! Has anyone ever found a way to get their babies to stop marking? How much weight did your puppy gain after he got neutered? If you can give me advice, I would be so thankful!!! I know I shouldn't be freaking out so much about this, I just don't know what to do.... |

| How old is he? How much does he weigh? I've heard in some situations once they mark the won't stop, even if they are neutered. While some have been marking, get neutered and stop. I've also heard in most situations, once you start breeding, the male will continue to mark his territory. Is this something you want to deal with? You could always try belly-bands. This wraps around their boy parts and prevents any pee from getting on your carpet, walls, etc. Some members on here make them. Maybe someone else can post and help out with some of your other questions.

| Cohen is 5 months old and weighs about 4.5 lbs. I have heard from some people that some males do not stop after being neutered and that worries me. I will try belly bands if it becomes a bigger problem. I just wish there was a way I could teach him that it's bad manners to mark in the house. |
