| At 11 weeks, Sophie was 1.9 lbs. Now at 7 months, she is 3.7 lbs. She has already been spayed.

| This is kind of strange to me, but Layla's first litter will be seven weeks old on Saturday, and there is a huge difference in their sizes: Pinky: 1lb 13oz Walter: 2lb 2oz Saul: 2lb 6oz Gus: 3lb 3oz I've heard that large pups can be the result of really rich milk from their mother, and I can imagine that her milk was extremely rich. I had her on puppy food throughout most of her pregnancy. After she had them, she drank a ton of whelping pudding (and the goat's milk recipe for puppies that won't nurse) and I was supplementing her with Oral Cal Plus and the pups with Nutri-drops. I started giving her a scrambled egg every morning for three weeks. And even now, when I make the pups food (I just soak the food with hot water and let it sit for ten minutes until mushy, then test the temp before giving it to them) she'll end up eating most of it after they finish picking at it. I hope this means they are super healthy. |

| I think your new babies weight sounds really good for age and a lot of them will grow off really fast and then stop, I have a 5lb girl that has had puppies weighing 2.8 at 10 wks but end up at 4.1/2lbs...but most breeders will not be able to tell you the exact weight unless they know their line really well and even then there can be an exception. I have different weights and love everyone of them

| Hey Hey--- well my Yorkie is 12 weeks old and he only weighs 1lbs 9 oz..... I do not think your Yorkie is large. When I purchased my Yorkie I was told mine would not get no bigger than 3 lbs becuase the mom weigh 3lbs and the dad weigh 4lbs..... |

| Ruger was about 3 lbs when I got him and he's now 12 lbs. While he's bigger than I thought he would get, his size is perfect -- big enough to hold his own but small enough to be a great lap dog . |

| Enjoyed reading this old thread very much! Many puppies in the same weight boat as mine...I wonder what happened to the puppy in the op? Any follow ups for those who posted earlier would be interesting! Pooky weighed 2 lbs 3 oz today at 13 weeks His parents are in the 4 pound category, I understand his mother was originally lighter. |

| I agree with Roccosmom....I previously had a tiny yorkie that fullgrown weighed a little over 3 lbs. Because of his weight and fragile size, the Vet bills were more than usual. My current yorkie weighs 7 lbs and is healthy as can be. Either way, if my yorkies were purple and weighed 20 lbs, I would love them all the same. |
