| Recipe for the chicken & rice soup? I just started to feed Cassi on NV raw and needless to say she has an upset stomach from it and has been having these wet burps with some spit-up (usually clear in color). I've stopped feeding her NV raw since Friday and today she vomited some clear brownish/yellowish color liquid. So can someone provide me with the chicken and rice soup/meal recipe? So far she's been eating a bit and have been fairly active today. If she's not better by tomorrow, I'm going to take her to vet's office.

| Did you gradually change her diet or do it all at once. Most dogs can't handle a quick diet change and you have to introduce any change slowly. |

| Yes, I switched over immediately without any gradual change for NV raw. I read from several post on YT that this is the way to do it if you were going to switch them over to raw. Unfortunately, I don't think her stomach can handle the raw stuff. Since she started on the raw diet she's been having the wet burps with some spit-up immediately after eating it. On top of that she's been stealing food from her new little brother Ori who is eating Bil-Jac kibble. So I had to keep a real close eye on her whenever he's eating his food...to make sure that she doesn't get at it.

| Hmmm, what recipe do you need? When I feed chicken and rice, I just give whatevery looks right. Make some rice, make a boneless skinless chicken breast. Cut some of the chicken up into the rice. Stir and serve. Is ther another one you are looking for?

| I needed the chicken and rice recipe for an upset stomach. As you can see, I'm totally clueless when it comes to cooking. In any case, I did some google search and was able to find some simple recipe. So this evening my husband (who does all the cooking) boiled some rice and then put some pieces of chicken in it. After it was completely cooked, I tore the chicken into small pieces and fed it to Cassi. We gave her a little at first to see how her stomach handled it. She gobble the whole thing down really quickly and I had to hold her back a few times so that she would eat it more slowly. Anyway, she did not have her wet burp w/ spit-up and also did not vomit (btw she vomited earlier this evening after I wrote the initial post). I waited for 3.5 hours before I gave her some more. I'm really hoping that this will settle her stomach. I think this is the last time I'm going to give her raw food. That means Orion is not going to get any raw food either. Keeping fingers crossed.

| Whenever Chip gets an upset tummy (which is a lot of the time) the vet told us to boil some chicken, boil the rice, cut up the chicken, and mix it together. Nothing added. It's bland so it won't upset their tummy more.

There is no one recipe for chicken and rice. You just do what looks right.

| Well, she has not had any episdoes of wet burp or vomit last evening since we started her on the chicken & rice diet. We fed her chicken & rice this morning and she seems to be doing well. Do you know when I can switch her back to regular wet dog food w/ kibble? Also do I need to do it gradually, mix chicken & rice with her dog food?

| Thanks 'Ashley V'! The chicken & rice diet definitely helped with her stomach. I was really stressed out yesterday and called the vet immediately after she vomited. Unfortunately the vet office was closed already but got connected to a 24-hr emergency vet service. I spoke to the vet on call and he felt that she probably just had an upset stomach and feeding her boiled chicken & rice would help. She's doing much better today...no wet burp and no vomiting. Any idea when I can switch back to her regular diet and do I need to do it gradually?

Homecooking is also an option since she is doing well on it but the recipe would need to be balanced.

| Ok, thanks! I'm going to send DH out to buy some more chicken. I would love to do homecooking but it's going to be tough since neither of us really cook. Well I don't cook at all and my DH does all the cooking but it's only once/twice a week. We usually either go out to eat or get take-out.
