| Yorkie Yakker | Well, I dropped Katie off to be spayed about an hr and 1/2 ago. She looked so pitiful when I left her, it made me upset, I started crying. I hate feeling this way. I know she'll be fine but leaving her and her not knowing what's happening just makes me so sad. The Dr. said if I don't hear from him then everything is going well. He said I can call this evening to check on her. I have to leave her overnight.......don't want to do that, either. I just needed someone to talk to. You guys have been great!!!!! |

| Yorkie Yakker | She is doing great! She is very hungry.....I fed her a little and she acted like she wanted more but I'm afraid to give her too much at one time. Think I will give her a little more in a couple of hrs. We have to go back in 10 days to get stitches out. I missed her so much last night. |

| YT 1000 Club Member | KiKi is 3 lbs and 15 months old and just finished her 1st heat...these little ones tend to do things a little later I think...like preemies...My vet would not spay under 3 lbs...and I too am fearful of putting her under. So glad to hear all went well! HUGZ!!

| I am so glad your little one is back home and that everything went ok. Mine gets spayed in a few weeks and I am also nervous about it. She is 3.5lbs and 6 months old. |

| morning, Bella was spayed over 2 weeks ago and she's only 2.4 pounds...she did well....she looked terrible with a capital T.....I felt sooo bad..she had her hospital gown on,the collar around her neck and her leg was wrapped from the IV.....plus she was still drugged up.......her surgery went well...was better almost herself the next day.......the vet gave her pain medicine to take so that was good....it took her a few days to get back to "her normal" the only problem post op and not sure how this happen but I had to take her back for she couldn't open her left eye...took her in and she had a corneal ulcer????? now she's being treated for that Bella's sutures were just taken out....they waited 14 days, incision looks good hope this helped!!1 |

| I am glad to hear she is back home and that everything went so well for Bella. However, I am wondering how she got the eye ulcer?? Did the Vet gave you any idea as to why that happened? I know I am going to be a mess when I picked Ella up from her surgery next week but it needs to be done. I feel confident that everything will be as good as Bella's surgery went. Take care of little Bella!! |

| I am debating on when to take Chloe in. DH dosen't want to spay her as they have become best friends, lol! He is very concerned - as am I, but I know the consequences of not having her spayed. She is 4lbs and 9 months now! |

| I understand your concern. My Daisy was 2.8lbs. when I had her spayed. Best thing I ever done. Unless you are prepared for a pregnancy I would personally have it done. She can still be best your husbands friend spayed Read up on the pros and cons and then make your decision.

| Oh I am totally for it... DH wants to breed her, which I am not up for. I love my Chloe, but with 4 children ages 6, 5, 3, and 1 I am not ready for that. However, DH's biggest fear is something going wrong during surgery. He lost his Chesapeake Bay Retriever 10 years ago because she hemmorhaged severely during a routine spay. It is very scary in my mind too - but I know that in the long run it is best! |

| I would find a vet that is familar with small dogs and be comfortable with the vet. Make sure you have pre blood work done if you decide to spay. Some vets also have laser surgery which in my opinion is safer, not much bleeding. I had laser done with Daisy. There is a sticky post her that tells about spaying and which anethesia is safe to use. Good luck with your decision.
