| Lanas poor teeth When I had Lana spayed they told me they removed her remaining baby teeth. Well it turns out they missed 2. One is a canine and one is a molar. The canine is really tiny and so covered with stuff I wasnt even sure it was a tooth. and the molar is sticking out the side of her gums and very loose and filthy. So I had my vet (not the one that messed up taking it out in the first place) look at them and he said they should be removed. They are to messed up to stay. It makes me angry and scared that this needs to happen. Is it safe to go under agian? She been spayed about a year. And Im ticked they didnt do it right in the first place and save Lana and myself this grief. She'll go in Feb. Friday the 13th. Im not normally superstious but this isnt the best day. Please say an extra prayer for Lana. Shes my sweet baby and I want this to be a good move. |

| I would be upset too but yes, it is safe to go under again (although the same risks apply as last time but maybe she won't have to be put under so deep).

| Mine went under twice for pulling baby teeth because the first vet chose not to pull one and missed the other entirely. The next vet almost exactly a month later (took me that long to settle on a new vet and wait out the snowfall ) had to pull those two plus 2 adult ones (one was an incisor). The one the first vet chose to leave behind almost immediately had lint and fabric strings wrapped around it from her chews. I was never able to remove all of it with my nails and she'd bleed and it really stunk and she had inflamed gums. Since it was so diseased, it took the adult tooth down which was next to it. The baby tooth that was in the back side of her mouth sandwiched an adult tooth with her canine. It was pushing the canine up against her other teeth. Rather than risk it never moving away from the canine on its own, we opted to pull that one out also so that we wouldn't be putting her through this for a third time! My girl was around 5.5 lbs when she got hers done at 10 and 11 months old. The sooner you get it done the better! Good luck! Maybe your original vet did have all the baby teeth present at the time pulled and it just grew in later than the rest of them? I'm also thinking it might be possible to wiggle the "loose" one out or wait another two weeks for it to be removed by the pro's . I couldn't help myself when I wiggled some of my girl's loose ones out prior to any dental work because a couple of them came out easily. |

| Reb had 3 baby teeth removed when he was neutered. Thank God - the vet got 'em all at that time. But, his teeth are very discolored - the vet thinks he may have had a "touch"(?) of distemper when he was a little guy. I have to really watch his teeth because of that. He and Lucy will be put under on Monday to have their dentals done. This will be the second time for Rebel, his first was done when he was neutered along with removing those baby teeth. It's Lucy's first time - she's got beautiful teeth and I want to keep 'em that way. I'm a nervous wreck already! I'll have to drop them off when I go to work and pick them up after.
