| Teeth cleaning cost. To high? Ivy has to have her teeth cleaned and my vet gave me a price of about $275.00. Could and knowing my luck will cost more. Does this sound like a good price or is it a little high??

| It sounds a little high to me. But there are huge differences depending on areas so you never know. Why don't you call a few others and see if you are getting similar quotes? |

| Oh my $400.00!!!!!!! are you from the city? I'm upstate. If that is the price you pay my $275 does't sound so bad, but I think tjdmom has the right idea and call around. But he has been my vet for some time, feels like I'm cheating on him.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | The anesthesia is the costly part. Special training goes into it, and of course the type used with smaller dogs is more costly than the other.

| Our clinic charges about 350-4, but that is going to include a CBC, Chem panel, ketamine(preanasthetic), gas anesthesia, cardiac/temp/pulse monitoring, x-rays (4) of the teeth, the cleaning itself, and then he will apply oravet gel, give a penicillan inj, oral antibiotics, pain inj and oral pain meds if needed. I think I got it all, lol. Some clinics will only scrape off what you can visually see--our Dr cleans the teeth just like if we go to the dentist, so he has the equipment to get under the gum line. Our Dr is a specialist and gets lots of referrals from other clinics--he's expensive, but good. |

| That's crazy! I had no idea it was so expensive! I'm no longer going to complain about brushing their teeth!

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I take my boy to Banfield where he is on a plan. I spend $29.99 a month and this pays for everything. Even his yearly dental cleaning. |

| That sounds like a fair price, especially if it includes blood work.
