| Eating Anxiety? Okay, I'm having a little issue with Ben, that I hope can be corrected with a little advice. In the morning we have the same routine, which Ben knows like the back of his paw. After I get out of the shower and get dressed he knows that it is time for his breakfast, and he gets very excited. So I put his food bown down, and I walk away to go finished getting ready for work, and he always has to run to see where I am, I guess because he thinks I am going to leave him! Then he will run and grab a few kibbles and then run back to see if I'm still in the Bathroom. He does that a couple of times and then runs back for his food and inhales it so fast I wonder if he even tasted it, lol! Then he has to come running back into the Bathroom because that is where I am. I just feel bad because I cant stay in the Kitchen with him while he is eating because I have to get ready for work, and I just feel like he cant enjoy his food because he is wondering where I am while he is eating. Can anyone relate to this? Any advice on what I can do different? Thank You!

| Yep...Pasquale does this too. He wont eat in the kitchen unless i'm in there with him. I guess you could try putting his food in the bathroom while you're in the shower?

| This sounds like a form of separation anxiety Maybe try and feed him at a different time or leave the food for him as you leave? Dogs are creatures of habit and do get into behavioral situations that need to be altered from time to time

| You know Ben does this as well, but he only does it if my Bf puts him in his crate before he leaves. If I do it, he eats his treat right then and there. These furbabies have some weird behaviors sometimes!

| I would try putting the food in the bathroom with you. My furbaby does this, so when I'm in my bedroom doing homework, I take the bowl in there with me and 9 times out of 10 she'll go an gobble it right up. Oh what we must do for our furbabies! |

| Mine do the same, so I've divided the food in 1/2 and put in the bathroom with me. If they don't eat it they have the rest of the day to eat, which they don't till I get home from work and around 6:00pm they will finish the food. I give them the free run of the house. They stay up in the bedroom or kitchen when one wants a timeout.

| Pao is like that too! I have to sit by his side wait for him to eat or make his food seem interesting by playing with it otherwise he won't eat! If I leave it and go out, he wouldn't touch it at all no matter how hungry he is and once you come home, he gobbles it up and since I knew that, I always try to take the time to sit with him and make sure he eats first before I go change otherwise he won't eat! I'm usually at home so it is okay only when I need to go out certain days I will do that.
