| ![]() OK, I have heard both that garlic is toxic to dogs but also that it is good for their digestion. A family member gives garlic tablets for flea and ticks. What do you think? |

| ![]() Garlic in large enough quantity can be toxic to dogs. Since I have never seen anything outlining how much could be toxic I wouldnt give garlic

My little Shadow Donating YT Member | ![]() I am glad you posted this question. I too had heard this & bought Brewer's Yeast with Garlic tabs. But I stopped giving them because I had also heard could be toxic. It will be very interesting to hear everyones thoughts on this.

| ![]() My Mother use to put a little fresh garlic in their food, but she had larger dogs. I am sure someone knows better than I do.

| ![]() I am curious about this too. I've heard conflicting reports on garlic. My Tiki is "liver challenged" so I don't used flea/tick prevention on her, and I would sure like a safe natural method.

| ![]() Over quite a few years I have added a little "fresh" garlic to my dogs food without any problems. Now days I drop a whole clove of garlic into their Quoina, or harvest blend when cooking, then take the garlic clove out when the mixture is done. Garlic also aids in digestion.

| ![]() The small rescue kennels where i adopted my first dog from always mixed garlic powder in with their food. They advised me to do the same to help prevent fleas and worms. |

| ![]() I used the brewers yeast and garlic pills. They did not work. We a a tough flea problem a couple summers ago and had to use k9 advantix anyway. ( We had rabbits in the yard w/fleas) ![]()

| ![]() When I had the flea issue with Fiona over the summer time, someone mentioned on herr that you can add vinegar to their water to help with fleas, however, im not sure how much and if a dog would really want to drink that?! ![]()

| ![]() Not sure why anyone would add vinegar to the dogs drinking water, but I do know a vinegar and water rinse will keep the critters off. Natural Hair Vinegar Rinses
