| Took my Sophie to the Vet... Sophie began to smell so since I already had an appointment to the Vet I decided to ask him why. He found out it was some "Annal Gland" so he squezed it. Is there something I can do to help her to not get this again? Has anyone else experienced this? The main reason for the Vet visit was she had gained from (on thier scales) 5lbs 9oz to 6lbs 8oz in just 3 days. Since she had finished her cycle about 1 mt ago I wanted to make sure she wasn't "Pregnant". She isn't but he said she is going through a false pregancy. Boobies getting big and so is she. Any one experienced this? He said she would probably to go through all the signs. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Make sure she is on a good food - and isn't getting ingredients that could irritate her system and fill up her anal glands. What are you feeding? Why were you worried she was pregnant - was she w/ a male by mistake? Is she an unspayed puppy?

| She only eats dry food, Eukanuba from Petsmart. The reason we were afraid she was pregnant was, she did get out in the back yard a couple of times (we watched her very close during her cycle) without us and we were afraid that a male may have dug under the fence and took her. She was getting so big and her boobies were getting so large. |

Glad she was safe from the male! After she's spayed, you won't have to worry quite as much - which I'm sure will be a relief.

If Petsmart is your only option, the only food I would be comfortable feeding is Blue Buffalo. Also, I agree with Ann. Getting her spayed will be so much easier on both of you!
