| he won't eat i don't know what to do. Every time, he wont' go near his food bowl. If he does, it is only to drink water. I put his food inside his crate so he can eat in peace, he stay as far away from the food as possible. He is getting picky and i don't know what to feed him anymore. I want to return the food and get something else. However, not sure if petco will allow it since it is open. The dog food bag has a 100% guarantee on it though...have anyone ever return open food? |

| nutro max for puppy in chicken. He just doesn't like it and won't go near it. I guess i should try to return it for different one since it is 100% guarantee. Before that, I was feeding him the kibble and bits from the owner..he didn't like that either..so his grandfather got him the taste of the wild..he was eating it for a while and then didn't like that anymore. I don't know what to feed this little guy. He loves bacon though..He will do anything for begging bacon strips... |

| Mine won't eat their food unless I put it in my room when I'm on the website. Maybe he just want's to be near you when he eats. Probably a poor habit to teach, but if it works I'll do it.

| Perhaps you can add a very small about of canned to moisten it. Even mixing in a little warm water to soften the kibbles helps. |

| i tried wetting the food today and still he won't eat it. Since getting Charlie, he has never been able to finish a bowl of food a day. It takes him 2-3 days to finish a bowl of food (dry). I fed him wet food and he didn't like it so back to dry food. I wonder if it is the material of the bowl. I feed him from the little metal bowl sets that I got from petco. He is 4 months old and weighs 5lbs |

| Yes they can be buggers And YES you can return the food, so no sense in forcing him to eat it. Do you have other petfood stores in your area (non chain) - If so, they do carry other brands like: Merrick and Nature's Variety which may be more appealing.... When mine eat (one eats home cooked and the other eats raw) - but they have to have something under their feet when they eat, so I put a throw towel down for them to stand on and eat...bizarre, I know... You can add a little low sodium chicken broth or a little water from a tuna can to the kibble as that may work too |

| he loves my father in law's old sweatshirt. I put the food on top of the shirt so it will be a comfortable safe place for him. Still he will go there only to drink water. |

| How about playing a game. Toss kibble and see if he will chase it and eat it |

| I've had this same problem with my furbut. It's very frustrating but she's now wolfing down her food. I bought some canned food and mix some kibbles in with it. Gracie just had her vet checkup and this was one of our concerns. The vet, who has owned a Yorkie, stated "well I don't have any advice as Yorkies can be picky". Her advice was to keep trying different foods. Before that we tried mixing in cottage cheese, yoghurt, doggie gravy and all sorts of enticing edibles. They worked for awhile, but not for long. One suggestion I have is if you have a Mud Bay store near you is to go there. They have tons of samples of very good pet foods and you can get as many samples as you want.
