And YES you can return the food, so no sense in forcing him to eat it. Do you have other petfood stores in your area (non chain) - If so, they do carry other brands like: Merrick and Nature's Variety which may be more appealing....
When mine eat (one eats home cooked and the other eats raw) - but they have to have something under their feet when they eat, so I put a throw towel down for them to stand on and eat...bizarre, I know...
You can add a little low sodium chicken broth or a little water from a tuna can to the kibble as that may work too
