| Weening off of food from the breeder?? On Monday the 26th of January I get to pick up my Yorkie! She is currently eating Nutro Ultra, and I want to switch to ACANA. How did you all do this? How much should I feel of the new food? For how long, etc. Thanks so much! Also, is it okay to put a little canned food in as well (only if she is not eating, which the breeder said shouldn't be a problem because all the pups are eating just fine) |

| Congrats on your new baby The advice I got was to start mixing the new food in slowly with the old food in very small amounts over about a two week period of time. I started with just over a tablespoon of the new mixed in with the old then added more every other day until they had only the new food. I wouldn't add canned until the switch to the new kibble is complete and you see how she does on it , but that's JMO. If she's not eating than I guess I would , but if she's eating I wouldn't until you see how the new food reacts with her.
