| She needs some meat on her bones!!! Miss Tessa Boo....the silly booger she is...she is so picky about her food. I have finally got her to where she will eat her full feedings every day, but I have to stay in the kitchen and watch her. But she is SO skinny!! I mean...serioiusly, if animal control came by, they would think I starve her. Lord knows that is not true at all. I give her more than what the recommended feeding is of her food...actually almost double the amount I give to maggie. I also give her a boiled egg every day. But she just puts NO weight on at all. Any ideas as to what I can give her to help her put some meat on her bones? I have also tried putting coconut oil on her food but she only licks the coconut oil off and will not eat her food after that. the food she is on is a great food, so I really don't think it is the food. this is what she is eating.... Lamb & Rice All of my dogs have always eaten it and I have never had any issues with it. Yeah, I know there aren't many people out there these days looking to put weight on their yorkies...with the crazy fad of teeny tiny babies...but I like my girls with some meat on their bones. I figure that with her body shape she should weigh close to 6 lbs, maybe 6.5, but she is right around 5 lbs. so she seriously needs some weight on her. any ideas????

| Maybe give her some canned puppy food with her dry? I did this with Smokey when we brought him home cause he needed to double his weight and he did.

| i know a lot of show breeders give K9 show stopper supplement with the food to fatten their dogs. Maybe you might want to try that also.

| When Milos hair is cut short he looks so skinny, they say you should be able to feel there ribs but not see them and my Vet says his weight is perfect for his size. Try filling a small Kong with a healthy treat like yogurt or cottage cheese mixed with something else and put it in the freezer. |

| If she is eating her full feeding, double as much as Maggie and a boiled egg daily, either her metabolism is extremely fast or there is an underlying medical issue. Has she been tested for exocrine pancreatic insufficiency? You can always add more carbs to her diet or canned food but it shouldn't be necessary.

| my recommendation, from experience My dog (Monday) was diagnosed as anorexic. She was 4 lbs. 4 oz (5 years old at the time) and had pancreatitis and was hospitalized in April '08 and hydrated for 3 days. My vet insisted on some crappy Hill's z/d kibble which the dog totally ignored. A friend sent me THE HONEST KITCHEN and Monday ate it up so fast. Here we are now 8 months later and she weighs a healthy 6 lbs 2 oz. and looks great. THK is a raw dehydrated food, all you do is add water. See the video link below. We have never gone back to that vet, and life is good. Have a new vet and a healthier dog. We use FORCE because it is the one she prefers. I did try EMBARK and THRIVE but FORCE seems to be the flavor of choice, but each dog is different. I highly recommend THK. here is a company that I found that has the best prices ....Alpha Nutrition or try this site to get a sample size. | Has she seen the vet recently? Sometimes we think our dogs are underweight, and they're actually just small. I kept thinking Jake was too tiny, he stays right at 4.5 lbs. But, my vet said he is perfect for his tiny body frame. I she eating the entire boiled egg everyday? Maybe try free feeding, but I would ask the vet for his opinion. Is she still on puppy food or adult food?

| Mandee I'm going through the same thing with Emma right now. At first as a puppy she ate EVERYTHING in sight, so we started watching it and measuring closely what she ate. She trimmed down a bit, which was great, but now she is SO skinny. I swear I feed her so much food, but her metabolism is so high she just can't keep it on. She should be closer to 7 lbs (she is very long, and taller than Milli), and she weighs just 6. So we have started feeding her a 3rd meal each day, and so far I think it's helping, after just a week of trying it! I homecook, so I have added in a meal of kibble (I got Solid Gold Wolf King, but I'm not sure if that's agreeing with their tummies, I might have to switch), and I have also been using Sojos (similar to HK) as the homecooked food base. Anyway, try feeding her another small meal later at night-maybe 2 hours before bedtime. If you don't want to give her that much kibble, try the other 1/2 of her boiled egg, 1-2 tablespoons of oatmeal, and a little applesauce or some cheese on top. It's really easy to have those things all mixed up and in the fridge-and my two will even eat it cold!

| My little Tsubi is 2.5lb at 1 year and She is the biggest eater out of all my 3 girls but she won't gain an ounce even..sigh.. I got all the testing done on her and she is super healthy and there is nothing wrong with her. It just that she is super active and doesn't sit still..lol..The vet said she is just really active and has fast metabolism. I wish I have that!! I am feeding her all through out the day but still no weight gain. i want her to be at least 3.5lb..I just need her to gain a lb..is that too much to ask?hahah..
