I too have heard that it doesnt effect dogs like it does humans but when they annouced yesterday that the dog treats were recalled it made me wonder???

| What I would like to know is why in the world is Lowes Foods advertising peanut butter on the front page of this weeks ad. True it may not be the one in the recall, but I am not buying any peanut butter anything until things get cleared up. |

| Well tonight said treats for dogs that had peanut butter. So I wouldn't do any of that and if you are having troubles and kept the treats. I think I would have it tested. Its not worth the problems. But sounds like they aren't sure yet.

| To be honest, I don't know much about salmonella and how it affects dogs (or humans for that matter) but after hearing some news today from a client, it still is possible for dogs to get salmonella poisoning just as bad as humans. One of our clients that boards their dog and cat frequently in the summer, called today and spoke with our assistant manager. She told her that her dog Chewy (yorkie mix) had gotten really really ill and was in the hospital for almost 3 days for some kind of "virus." He actually almost died as a result from it. The vet is now leaning towards possible salmonella poisoning. It was so heartbreaking hearing that, but at the same time, it was very sweet of her to call us and let us know what Chewy has been through this past week. My heart goes out to that little guy. Please be cautious of all peanut butter products and keep your eyes (and ears) open in case more recalls come through. |

I know peanut butter is not an issue but anything that is made with commercial peanut butter or peanut paste could be. I just don't want to take any chances.

| I am just going to pitch any treats that have peanuts in it to be on the safe side. I would hate for Biggie to get really ill. |
