| How do I know if it's infected? Mya had hernia repair on her belly on Tuesday and has a total of 5 staples. Hope do I tell if it is infected? There is no bruising but around the incision like up and down the edges it's pink and swollen. I read that maybe it's because she has been too active? (I try i swear but it's hard to keep her calm sometimes when she is feeling good!) Anyway, there is no discharge or bleeding or anything, just pink and swollen....any thoughts? Should i take her to the vet or is it just normal healing swelling?

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | you can try icing it to help with the swelling. And if its really that hard to keep her quiet then you will need to crate her. the staples will be pulling at her skin and its really irritating. then she'll start going after them.
