| Prescription Food / need advice Romeo is now eating Royal Canin Prescription food for a possible allergy problem. (I know it's not the best food, but I gave in to the Vet to hopefully make my baby feel better) I was instructed to mix it with his old food for a couple weeks. The problem is he is picking out the old food and only eating the Royal Canin Prescription. Is this a problem? I haven't noticed any tummy issues yet.

| It could be a problem but might not be. I would probably try and crush the kibble to mix it or mix something wet in so that he can't pick one kind out or blend them together. If none of that works, you might as well just give the new on its own.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | this usually happens when switching food. they get all excited for the "new" food so they pick it out and eat it first and leave the old food. i usually keep mixing it but if morgan starts to get diarrhea because she is only eating the new food, i just totally switch to the new food. heck she already has diarrhea so what's the difference. LOL i also add some yogurt during this process to help with the tummy until the diarrhea stops. make sure there is adequate water intake.
