				   | I heard today that giving a 1/2 slice of American cheese will help make their ears stand up. Does anyone else do this? I was at the pet boutique (yes, again Cindy, lol, I LOVE that place!) today and their groomer was there and as soon as she saw Maximus she said that he needed his ears trimmed and his ears would stand up. I was also told about the cheese by the owner of the store. Her friend raises Yorkies and she swears by it. Just curious to hear what ya'll say. I was never concerned about his ears before. When he "listens" they perk up fine IMO and I never thought anything about it. Now, looking back at his pictures, I can clearly see how they droop.

				   | dairy products really aren't good for them. Maybe 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of lowfat cottage cheese a day. They need their ears shaved, if the ear is too big or thick, the ears may never stand up |

				   | I'm glad I asked here first. I didn't know that dairy products were not good for them. It seems like she said that show dogs were given it to perk their ears up? Ah, doesn't matter. My two legged kids can eat the Kraft Deluxe cheese I bought tonight. lol

				   | I've never heard of cheese in particular but I have heard that calcium will help especially when they are teething.

				   | I've never heard of dairy products being bad for them. Pippin's favorite treat is cheese. He knows the word and will cry for it if someone has it. I've been feeding him a couple little cubes of cheese like every 4th day for the past year and a half now and so far no major health problems.

				   | I occasionally give my dogs a few little strands of shredded cheese, and they get plain low fat yogurt every other day. I've heard that calcium can help make the ears stand up, but I'm not sure if that is true. You should definitely shave them, and you could try taping them too.
