Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | At the end of the day, they're really rather similar. What I find incredibly frustrating is that they both contain flaxseed. To me, this ingredient has no business in an allergy formula and it just confounds me that it's included in not only allergy formulas, but in so many foods in general. There are many dogs who just cannot convert it - and *boom* you have yet another source of itchiness and irritation to add to the mix.

I used the Natural Balance as kibble before I went raw, and Ranger did really well on it. I think if you have a simple allergy to grains or a specific protein, it's a great option. Good luck!

| Which "flavors" are you looking at? Because all dogs are different and they react to ingredients differently, there is no way to know which one will work unless you do an elimination diet. I would probably most likely try NB Sweet Potato and Duck just because of all the good reviews.

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | I use Natural Balance Sweet Potatoe and Fish. When I switched I was told it was not only good for allergy issues but also good for pups with sensative tummies and that it was an whole life food. (At the time I had three dogs - one with allergies, one with a sensative tummy and one six months old.) I can tell you I have been pleased. Prior to switching I would have to take my Sailor in for shots of steriods and had meds she was taking for all the skin allergy issues. I have been using the food now for almost two years and the first year Sailor had alot less issues but still had a few bad times.....but this past year she has not seen the vet for skin allergy issues at all. So I am a firm believer in this food. (Not to mention Magic has done well and is not longer having tummy issues.) Good luck in making your choice!

| I always have a hard understanding some of the ingredients they do put in food that is suppose to be for allergies or sensitive stomachs. I am going to try the natural balance if so many of you think it's good.
