| Stinky eyes? and Feeding question. Thanks everyone for the many responses to my questions about Panacur wormer. Riley goes to the vet for shots Monday and I think I'm going to wait and have him tested before dosing him. I do have another couple of questions. Does anybody else deal with stinky eyes? Riley is almost ten weeks old and we've been bathing him weekly and using puppy wipes as needed, but he has a smell and it seems to be coming from where his eyes run. I purchased some eye wipes, but he throws a fit when I use them on him. I even use a grooming spray when I brush him every night, so the smell definitely seems to be coming from the hair under his eyes. It's not horrible, but we do notice it. Is this something to worry about? or am I just being silly and overprotective? I also have a question about food. The breeder we purchased Riley from did not use a very good quality food based on my research, so I decided to switch him to Natural Balance premium small bites. There's just one problem, he doesn't seem to like it! He will actually pick around it for the other food. I have him at about a 1/2 and 1/2 ratio because I'm hoping he will warm up to it, but I'm afraid to completely take away the other because of his age and weight (1.5 lbs.). Any suggestions? The breeder also put a small amount of Karo on his wet food daily (1 tsp.) I also offer him dry, and he seems to eat both. I lost a baby to a hypo. episode that ended in seizure, so I want to be careful, but I worry about his teeth too. Does anyone else use Karo on a regular basis with really small puppies? I tried to give him Nutrical as a supplement (instead of the Karo), but he won't eat that either! I read on some Yorkie websites about giving Honey Nut Cheerios as treats, and he loves those, but I also just ordered some Yorkie Yummies today because of recommendations on YT. Sorry this is so long. I feel like I have a newborn baby and I just want him to be healthy! Thanks for everyone's great input! |

| You mean to drink? We're using Nursery water right now so we could slowly get him use to our well water. |

| I have two girls, 6 yrs and 1 yr and they both have stinky eyes. The older one is worse and also has a shorter snout, it seems to be related. I switched to distilled water for them to drink as YT members suggested. It made no difference. They have been drinking it for over four months now and if it helped, it's not by much. My girls don't like the wipes because they all smell so strong of perfume, they sneeze and try to get away.
