Hey Everyone,

I'm new to the forum, but I thought if I could ask anyone questions about my Yorkie, you guys would be the ones to help me out.

I have a girl Yorkie that is 4 years old. I started to notice that her belly just recently started to get dark dark brown, closer to black. Throughout the past few years and even up to last week her stomach was the normal light pink color.

My question is "Should I Be Worried" or is this a common thing on Yorkie's?

If you can respond ASAP, that would greatly appreciated.

I've never heard of it but did find this:
Black Skin Disease in Dogs - Senior Pet Products, The world's largest source of products and information for aging dogs and cats.

I would see the vet as soon as possible.

Can you post pics? Is it in spots, or solid? Her whole belly?

Roxi & Rocco's bellies are both pink and Ive never heard of that before.... I'd def call the vet at least....

I dont think that is the case, because she doesn't have hair loss. She is acting completely normal as well.

You're saying that last week her belly turned brown then black? I would be panicking. I hope she doesn't have some type of intestinal gangrene. Please see a vet ASAP, and let us know what caused this. Is she pooping and eating normally?

Your first few posts are subject to moderation on YT. Some are reviewed before they show up. You can try posting it again but I doubt the pics will show up until a mod reviews it.

If her belly is black, I would probably be on the phone with the er vet just because it isn't at all normal.

Mollys belly went very dark in the summer, but is now back to the normal pink. I am waiting to see if it happens again this year.

I am in no way any kind of expert in Yorkie health areas. But, did want to add that this happened to my neighbor's dog. She took him to the vet and it was some kind of reaction to sand fleas from being on the beach. Took a long time to go away with medicine.

Sorry, I can't help you with this one, either, but I think I would pay for the vet just for the peace of mind.
