| Baby teeth haven't been removed I have a little problem. Coco is 18mo. my first yorkie. When he was neutered I didn't know he was supposed to have his left over baby teeth removed. He had four canines on the bottom. I don't know what happened but they are gone now. Now Pebbles is 9mo and she was spayed at 4mo. also didn't have teeth removed. At four months aren't they supposed to still have babyteeth? She currently has four canines on the bottom and God knows how many other teeth are baby teeth. Same for Coco. I don't want to have them put out again for teeth removal nor can I afford it. What should I do? COCO PEBBLES TRIXIE |

| I would wait til they're at least a year, see if they come out by then and decide from there. If they don't come out, there is no way around pulling them because bacteria can get trapped in between the baby and adult teeth. It also may be painful.

| I agree. Not all require it, but many do. Keep an eye on them and if they do not come out I'm afriad there is no way around it.

| Why do they say to do it when they get "fixed" ...that's not a year old. COCO PEBBLES TRIXIE |

| It is recommended to do it then so they don't have to be put under again. It is best to just get them out of there. More may come out by a year though... I had read something about retained baby teeth causing bite issues, so breeders may not want their breeding dogs to go a year with them retained either...not sure.

| some researched has been shown that it is a little better to neuter after a year but most vets say bring in as early as possible.
