| Potty problems Hello I have been the proud owner of a yorkie for the last year and a half. Cuddle is about 12lbs which I am told by my vet is a big Yorkie. Thus, my vet questioned if she was a pure breed yorkie. (Which I was told my the breeder she was and since it was family didn't press the issue.) When she was about a year, Cuddles started to wake-up wet. I would be watching TV with her right beside me. The next thing I knew, eveything around her is wet and she is sould alseep. She sleeps with me at night and the samething happens...not all the time but enough. The vet started her on Prion 12.5mg three times a day ..that has helped but has not provided a solution. When whe was born, she had bilateral inguinal hernia that were repaired at 6 months along with spading. From the hernia, the vet told me she has a spastic bladder and the leakage is from bladder spasm. If this is true, why does it only happen at night and she is sound alseep? I am at my witts end. I read about abd binders...I don't think that is an option b/c she is coller chewer. Any suggetions? |

| Welcome to YT! I'm so sorry you're having this type of problem with your yorkie! I don't have any knowledge to this type of problem, but I see as to where it would get frustrating for you. The only suggestion I can think of would be to get her some doggie diapers. Here is a site with excellent ones...they are made really well and look cute, and would keep her accidents from flooding the area. http://queenbk9.smugmug.com/gallery/338279 Here's a couple of pics of my Maddie in diapers from that site. I got her diapers to wear while at other homes so I wouldn't have to worry about an accident. |
