My Yorkie has really bad breathe and I thought it was just me, it's nice to know that there is someone else out there.

I am so glad I found this thread bc Tobi breath is horrible! I went to PetSmart and the groomer told me to try this spray and I bought one of those dental bones. Hopefully I will notice a change within a week or 2... My poor baby is killing mommy and daddy with his kisses...lol

Abby is at the vet's right now She has to stay over night. She got her teeth cleaned and baby teeth pulled and also spayed today. I've been so worried about her, I called twice to check on her. They assured me that she was fine, I'm picking her up first thing in the morning. I miss my little furry bed buddy. I was afraid for them to put her to sleep, she only weighs 2 lbs. I can't wait to pick her up!

I noticed the same problem with Chase. Never noticed bad breath until a few weeks ago. Most of his baby teeth fell out on their own, but the vet extracted two during his neuter on Wednesday. It's smelling a little bit better since then...

Abby came home Wednesday, her surgery went great and guess what? No more bad breath

Having her teeth cleaned and baby teeth pulled did the trick! She still real sore from the operation but other than that, all is well. I was looking at greenies today for her, the smallest is for dog 5 lbs. Do you think it would hurt to give them to her? She's six months old and weighs 2.4 lbs.

I was glad I read this post, Gracie is almost 6 months and is due to get spayed, she lost 4 of her baby teeth but still has horrible breath. I will have the vet check her when she goes in, I just thought it was her. Thanks for all the advice.

When Sasha was teething, she had the bad breath problem. I ended up changing her food (she was on a lower quality food at the time) and began giving her dental treats. After she got spayed and had 2 puppy teeth pulled, the bad breath disappeared! I still give her dental treats at least everyday or every other day just to stay on top of it. Plus, she LOVES them.

Many times bad breath can be caused the upsets in the ph balance of their saliva or changes in the acidity of the stomach (can be caused by stress). Probiotics and digestive enzymes (just learned about the enzymes- thanks Ann) can help regulate the acidity and decrease the smell. Thinkin' outside the box!

Mya had NASTY breath @ 5 months....when she was losing teeth....as SOON as she lost her last back molar it went away instantly

It is very likely that your little ones stinky breath is from her losing her puppy teeth. Not at all uncommon.

Make sure that you brush her teeth to help allivate with the problem AND because it's just plain good for her.
