| what is the noise? Layla makes this noise- it sounds like she can't breath and is trying to breath in and can't- but she only does it when she is excited to see someone and starts kissing their face and stuff. it's almost like an inhale snort or honk? any thoughts? It scares people off from letting her give kisses and they feel like they have caused the noise. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Reverse sneeze? Mine do that too and I hold my hand over their mouth and nose for a second or so and that forces them to breathe out again.

| Both my Teddy and Bridgette do that it is completely natural they do it also when they meet someone or some dog new. Also when I give them a bath, they hate the baths and start doing that. I think anytime they have a over sensitive reaction to anything it happens.

| Mine do that when they get really excited. I pick up whichever one is making the sound and very gently rub their neck. Funny thing, now whenever one of them starts making the sound , they come to whomever is closest to them to get their neck rubbed. ~Tammy |

| That is reverse sneezing...very normal. Patti's suggestion does work well for Ellie. If it doesn't work, then it probably isn't reverse sneezing.
