| Cassie is 10 months now and all of her front teeth are doubled. The only one that fell out is one canine that she knocked loose when she ran into a ball when I threw it for her. She actually lost a molar last week. I thought they were all gone by now. The vet took out the loose ones when she got spayed and said she should not take the rest because the adult teeth weren't in yet. Now she has a mouth full of shark teeth and I am feeling the same way, do I leave them in for a while longer and risk early tooth decay or have them taken out and risk another surgery when they might fall out on their own. They aren't even slightly loose.

| I would have the baby teeth pulled if the permanent teeth are starting to come in. My vet says the teeth can grow up into the palate of the mouth, and and become impacted around the roots of the baby teeth. We just had 12 pulled as there was no sign they were going to fall out by themselves. Yes, needed anesthetic, but was done in about 1 hour and home within 3 hours.

| Just a suggestion, our vet does a sonogram to make sure the adult teeth are there if there is any question before the baby teeth are pulled.

| We are way past that now. Her adult teeth are all in and she looks more like Jaws than a Yorkie.

When the abdominal incision is close (and can even be draped off), what is the difference between bacteria from pulling teeth and bacteria when they come home and lay on the floor or go to the bathroom outside?

| Our vet does both at the same time. Usually puts them on an antibiotic.
