| Yorkies and cheese I am new to this site, so please forgive me if this is a duplicate. I'm trying to learn how to send a post. My 2 year old Yorkie loves cheese, but some people told me that cheese isn't good for dogs. Does anyone have any info on this? I give her cheese daily as a treat, but I don't want to give her anything that may be harmful to her health. Thanks! |

| YOrkies and cheese thank you for responding. I am glad to know that others are giving their Yorkies cheese. She hasn't had any diahrrea or digestive problems, so I guess the cheese isn't harming her. |

| Welcome to YT If she does okay with it, I think it is okay to give a very small amount. Since it's salty, I would not overdo it. Lots of people give cottage cheese. Low fat and low sodium are best. This can even be used as the protein in homemade diets. My Yorkie got some cheese once and threw up. Too much could cause constipation also. It isn't the first treat I'd recommend but I also don't think a small amount is terrible...

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | We'll my baby loves it, but I only give it to him every now and then. I have never seen it bother him. My girlfriend use to give her dog his meds with cheese, I think it is okay every now and then. |

| Mine get cheese for a treat with grooming or when they get there baths. Its funny all love cheese they will do anything for cheese except for Cali and she turns up her nose at it. I can tell you if its bad for them they don't know it. They have been having it for a year or more and have never had any problems from it. I hope this helps you. I know you can get all kinds of answers and sometimes it really depends on your dog. Except what is really harmful for any yorkie. Welcome its good to see you and hope you stay around.
