| I had a couple questions about Maggie's spay. She is just now finishing her up her heat. I noticed blood on Oct. 6th (it'll be 3 weeks on Monday). Our normal vet told us that she shouldn't be spayed for 4-6 weeks, but the vet that is spaying her (long story) told us we could do it any time. I told them I would prefer to wait until she was done, just to be safe. I made the appointment for Nov. 6th, exactly a month from the day I saw blood. Do you all this is a safe enough time or should we wait even longer?

| They can spay them while they're in heat, just more expensive. She should be good to go anytime |

I don't want to risk anything! I guess what I meant to ask is.. when is she going to be completely done with her heat?

| I think I would err on the side of caution and go with the first vet's advice. It isn't going to hurt to wait the extra month and that way you know it will be as safe as possible...

The first vet told us 4-6 weeks and the date I picked is one month from the day I noticed bleeding. This is okay, correct?

I would personally wait about a month after her "last" day of heat just to be safe. Make sense?

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | I waited for 2 months after Roxie started her heat. Cali was spayed during her heat due to an emergency situation and she had a harder recovery. I personally would wait until 6-8 weeks after you first noticed blood.
