| Litte ones usually will nibble all thru the day so keep kibble out all the time. they usually won't eat alot at once because they have little stomachs. Everything is little. I have a new boy that is 3 lbs and he is 7 months old, I boil him chicken tenderloins and he eats kibble also, just not as much at the 4-5 lbs Yorkies. Nutrical will actually make some of them not hungry so don't over do that nutrical. I made that mistake before.

I am not forcing food on him, I am doing research for the future. Unfortunately, I can't leave food out for him all day, but I can offer him food throughout the day, which is what I have been doing. He likes to eat a few pieces at a time, then he's done, which is fine.

| I figured that would be a good idea. I am going to switch him to Nature's Variety raw after his neuter so I will have him two meals out of those and then two meals of kibble plus a snack or two...

| Home cooking seems to work well for them... it always works with Toby.

| I have a little girl a little over 3 1/2 pounds. We give her kibble all day and for her morning and evening feeding we use Science Diet Puppy, kibble and cottage cheese. She has finally started eating better, but she runs and plays so much that I don't think much of it sticks to her. |

| I wouldn't do Raw and Kibble though, you really need a good amount of hours in-between feeding raw and kibble. |

| Congratulations on your new baby!! I just wanted to mention that KaCee is about 4 pounds and she just picks at her food all day. I free feed both A.J and KaCee so they always have kibble down. She is the perfect weight, maybe even a little on the chunky side but I have never once seen her just stand at the food bowl and eat. She'll grab a bite or two here and there all day long.

| I was told that was a myth... I will have to research further in depth on that one. As an update, he gobbled about an eight of a cup at dinner-time tonight. He really likes the Natural Balance!

Contrary to what other message boards out there say, stomach contents and raw/non-raw contents do NOT stay in one large clump together, proceeding through the digestion process. That is simply not true. So if you read that "raw/non-raw can't be fed together bc it will rot" - that is pure hogwash. The body does not work that way. Do we eat sushi rolls, which is raw and non-raw together? Yes. Same concept. This is a really important myth to dispel bc it gets at the very basics of understanding digestion. I don't know where this myth started, in terms of raw w/ non-raw - but I see it everywhere and it's so frustrating.

Equine nutrition is fascinating...it can be so touchy (colic etc.) and they can develop such bad habits (cribbing etc.), get sick so quickly - they really require such care and knowledge. I love horses. I don't have any, but I've cared for them for a while - and studied the nutrition a bit, really interesting!
