| New Yorkie Owner, Food Help Hello Everyone! Weeks before I got my new yorkie puppy (Matix) I did some research on yorkies and must say that this forum has been very helpful and your dogs are all so adorable! ahh..! Love them! Just signed up to this forum and wanted to say hello to everyone AND ask my first question .. Matix is going on 11 weeks and I've had him for the past 3 days and been feeding him Science Diet (breeder was feeding him this) now I would like to know what do you guys suggest is the best dog food for my puppy? I noticed there are a lot of well experienced yorkie parents and thought it would be best to ask here. thanks! (fyi. that scammer's prank email thing was hilarious ) |

| Hi and welcome to YT! Nice to have you and Matix here. There are many different foods to choose from. I feed my kids raw. Whatever you feed your baby, just make sure to check the label because a lot of common dog foods contain awful ingredients and fillers like bi-products and corn. Best of luck to you! PS - Make sure you switch the food slowly so that your little one doesn't get an upset tummy.

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | welcome to YT..glad you found us! I am currently feeding mine Chicken Soup for the puppy and adult...hehe...they seem to really like it...but with most yorkies they tend to get bored...but since i had bought 2 - 35 lbs bags of puppy and 3 - 35 bags of adults...i am looking to switch...maybe to wellness or natural balance...just to give them something different every so often... hehe..but Chicken Soup is considered pretty good food... cant wait to see pictures of your baby!

| Chicken soup is a really good food- their ingredients look great! keep in mind when you switch from his food to his new food his body is going to go through a bit of a cleansing (since Science Diet is not a great food) and he might have looser poop for a few days. As long as he is eating and drinking and playing normal and he doesn't have diarrhea.. he'll be ok. Make sure you make the transition slowly! WELCOME to yorkietalk and can we see a picture of your little guy? |

| I've been feeding my yorkie Chicken Soup for a few months now. I got different samples from the first thread at the top and so far she has liked Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul the best and it has pretty good ingredients. |

| Alot of people on here speak highly of Chicken Soup. We feed Merrick which is an all life stages food. I like the fact that they have several choices in kibble for those guys who like their food switched up. I also like the fact that you can add a little warm water to the kibble and it releases a "gravy" that seems to help when Harley has lost interest! Just can not stress enough how slow you need to make to transition process. I believe we actually took a little over a month for a complete transition! Jeri and Harley |
